Pam's Navy Blue Wallpaper
John 16:13- "...and the Holy Spirit will reveal things to come."
Psalm 73:24 - "...and God will guide me with His counsel."
It was 5:00 a.m., a depressing, heart-wrenching morning in the summer of l986. I sat despondent and stunned on my white chair in the dining room surrounded by my navy blue wallpaper. My first husband announced he was divorcing me.
Oh, dear God!" I pleaded. "How can I survive without him? How can I get through this with my two and three year old? And why doesn't he love me anymore?"
Millions of women in our country today stare similar crises and heartaches right square in the face! Whether it be a husband leaving, a child going off to college, a son rebelling, a spouse dieing, or a circumstance turning sour, life promises to deliver one thing: Job said it so well. "Man is born of woman, is short lived, and full of turmoil." (Job 14:1)
Arise Ministries serves as a vehicle for God to bring His message of hope through Jesus Christ to thousands of men and women. Like never before, people are parched and thirsty for the good news of our Savior.
The Trinity, desiring to infuse real life transformation, saw this dilemma years ago as they searched for "someone" to be their messenger. They pondered, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" Isaiah stepped up to the plate. "Here I am Lord. Send me."
While staring at my navy blue wallpaper that defining moment in my dining room, tears chapped grooves in my cheeks. I cried out in desperation, "Lord, what can You do with my life? Of what use am I now?" And somehow through the steel wall of pain wrapped around my heart, somehow… somehow… I heard His still small voice.
"Pam, take courage. I want you today to begin keeping journals of the painful journey ahead. Someday I will raise you up to speak to thousands about My healing power to give new life!"
That was eighteen years ago. Today God is miraculously unfolding what the Holy Spirit revealed to me in the presence of my navy blue wallpaper. By His divine providence He is guiding this ministry which was prepared before the foundations of this world as a good work that I should walk in it… "Here I am, Lord. Send me."
I am humbled beyond expression that the Lord would give me the platform to minister to anyone! I am humbled to be one of His heralds, a public proclaimer of His saving grace! I am humbled that when I present the plan of salvation, hands are raised to receive Jesus Christ! And I am humbled that you would partner with Arise Ministries as we labor to spread the good news to countless women that Jesus Christ is the SUPREME and ONLY answer to a life of purposeful abundance!
In closing I share Paul's heart. (Message Bible - I Timothy 2:5-8 )
"God wants not only us but everyone to be saved, to come to know the truth that there's one God and only one Priest Mediator between God and us, Jesus, who offered Himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin and set them all free. This and this only has been my appointed work, getting this news to those who have never heard of God and explaining how it works by faith and truth. Since prayer is at the bottom of all this, what I want mostly is for you to pray."
